THE ALL-AMERICAN COMEDY TREK
HOME

My name is Dan Knabb, I am 21 years old from Philadelphia. I have been doing stand-up comedy about two years, and starting in March I am going to take my act on the road. I will be walking from New York City, to Los Angeles. I plan to have a crew of 2 or 3 people that will film it to turn it into a documentary.

When I tell people that I’m walking across America the first question I get is..why? It’s not a simple question as there are many reasons why I am doing it. Walking will turn the entire journey into an adventure. I will be pitted against the forces of nature, and all evils associated with man, with only a sense of humor and a small banjo to protect me.

Walking the entire way will gain me nationwide exposure with press coverage, and it will give me life experiences that I can talk about in my act. It will help me understand who I am as a man, and a comic, and where I stand in this country. I also want to donate a large portion of the profit to people who can’t walk, especially those who lost limbs from fighting in Iraq.

I expect the journey to last between 6-8 months. The total distance is around 3,000 miles. I initially planned to average 16 miles a day, but it is likely I will average around 20.
